Wicked Walk 5/10/2016

So, I’d like to pretend my lack of posts were due to some life-changing event.  Like child-birth.  Or Jesus coming back.  But, in reality, I’ve just kinda been doing life.  I snuck off to the pub the other night (with my husband) and had a marvelous time.  I went shopping with my daughter for a new dress and shoes for her piano recital.  And we had ice cream.  Twice.

I took the kids to see ‘The Jungle Book’, and I thought it was pretty darn good.  We had friends over for a crawfish boil.  And went hiking and horse back riding.  And I’ve been working in my yard.  Working at my job and generally, just staying busy with this journey we call life.  I’m still not sure if we are moving yet, but we have been spending a lot of time on the effort and at this point, it’s supposed to happen.

Tonight, tonight my step-son who is 16, just returned from a date at the lake with his “girl-friend”.  I’m still not sure how you can have a girl-friend and go on dates if you have no car and no drivers license…..but hey.  I’m a child of the early 80’s, what do I know?!?!?

I do know this, this is what Addie and I saw on our walk.

Rather than bore you with the same old paths I thought I’d take you blackberry picking with us.  My husband (a farrier for those who don’t know) has some very good clients and friends on a large ranch near our home.  They graciously let us drive around and pick blackberries to our hearts content.

Here is what we saw.

Are they not cute?!?

I LOVE baby cows.

Addie found some thistles..

Oh, and you can click on a gallery picture and it will open up a slide-show you can click thru.  Yay for technology!  😀

So the cows were less than thrilled, but it was alright.

The bugs were boring (like, into blackberries. Not as in they were dull), the cows were mooing, and all was well in the world.

It was nice to able able to cruise about and not worry….There were birds, bull frogs, berries and Lord knows what else!!!

And while we were prepared to use the shotgun, thank goodness there was no need!

And, I love this life we lead…..which is full of cobbler….and flowers……and ice cream….at least it was today.  Not always the case, but you have to take advantage of the good times, can I get an ‘Amen’?!

While we only picked enough for a cobbler or two, it was a lovely morning and we embraced life at its fullest. Thanks for joining us!

Love ya’!

  1. I saw the spot I would like a house! That beautiful hill with the flowers in the foreground! Funny how I’m trying to grow some black berry bushes and they just struggle while the wild ones in the ditch out front of my property has loads of them! Why even try when the ones God planted do best!
