When I began my blogging adventure I made a vow to keep things happy, fun and short. However. However there was a crime committed in Maydelle this week. Actually a string of crimes.
There was a break-in….
A kidnapping….

I began mourning when I saw for sure it was my older blue silkie whose feathers lay on top of the coop.
A murder…..
And an attempted murder.
Which led to me playing Turkey doctor.
Addie was the first to spot his wound and I’m sure it was pretty comically watching me attempt to catch him. Young turkeys are really strong by the way. This is the second wounded fowl I’ve had this year. The other was a chick who survived a coon invasion 2 months ago. After a week of living in the laundry room and receiving top-notch medical care she made an excellent recovery although she will never to able to fly very well. I am sure a coon is to blame for this tragedy as well. Country living is tough sometimes.
So Goodbye Silk-Silk. See you on the other side.
I hope you get that crummy raccoon! I hope Addie wasn’t sad for too long.

Naw, I’m more affected by chicken loss than her. She bounces right back, thank goodness!
