The pussy cat population at our house is normally a population of one. I prefer it that way, nobody gets stressed out or fights or does anything generally unpleasant. Sleeping on the freezer for 23 hours, 3 minutes of Pilates to maintain that sexy figure plus eating at least 4 times a day are the norm for our dear Peaches. That was, until about 2 weeks ago.
There was an awful yowling under the porch. “Don’t feed it, whatever you do,” growled my husband.
3 minutes later.
“Well, give him a little food in the yard.”
I fetch the food, go into the yard.
“Come back,” calls growling husband. “He’s on the porch.”
Another 3 minutes.
Little orange kitty is full and nestled in not-growling husbands lap.
“Let’s call him Tigger.” He purrs to the little kitty.
So, now there are two.
Peaches wasn’t sure at first, but as you can see, they have adjusted nicely.
And, in updated pussy cat news, there are now three more. Not all friends just yet, but everyone has a name and a bowl and well, they are fairly cheap entertainment.
Peaches adores Tigger, in spite of his playfulness and aggravation in general.
Peaches has totally adopted him.
The frog, however, they did not see. For that I was thankful, because I’m rather fond of frogs.
The frog was on my ‘Jackfruit’ tree. I have been very proud of my Jackfruit tree. It grows the largest fruit in the world and was gifted to me by a friend about 3 years ago. It started as a small seedling, in a clear, plastic cup. I let it grow on the kitchen counter awhile, soaking up afternoon sun and weekly waterings. Then, I moved it to a Folgers coffee can, the large plastic kind. It loved that can. And grew and grew. I researched my Jackfruit, told my relatives about my Jackfruit. I petted and talked to my Jackfruit.
Then I planted it in a large pot and moved it outside and sent a picture to my friend who started the seeds.
“Oh.” she says. “I think we got the tags mixed up. That looks a lot like our lemon tree.”
Well. I’ve always wanted a Lemon Tree. I was actually quite thrilled! Ha!
And, so was the little frog apparently.
So cute.
And, of course, there are the cats.
Totally……….catty.
I’m so glad you are all here, I’ve had lots of adventures but am totally skinny on the Internet right now.
Actually, that’s all that’s skinny in my life right now.
Hang with me, love you peeps!
So cute! (Just don’t turn into the crazy cat lady. Ha!)
