So, this exciting thing happened a few weeks ago. We got ELECTRICITY! Let’s not dwell on the fact that it cost twice what we expected. Or that the people clearing a right-of-way cut down the only dogwood tree I’ve found on the entire place (which wasn’t even ON the right-of-way.) Or that they didn’t fix back the neighbors fence, so we had to do it. What’s past is past (even if I’m not happy about it).
I’d rather dwell on the positives. One of which is my cousin, Stuart. He and I are closer in age than any of the other wad of cousins in my family. And growing up, we had a lot of fun. I could tell a lot of stories……but that is neither here nor there. The point is my darling cousin is an electrician. And a pretty darn good one at that. And he has spent 2 Saturdays getting power to the house and in the house with probably a couple more weekends to go. I’m thrilled.
We put Gus on the post-hole diggers, cleaning out the line running to the house. Because, what is the point in having teenage boys if you can’t assign them to the post hole diggers?
I rest my case.
Stuart worked and visited and seemed to know exactly what he was doing at all times. Which is good, because I know less than nothing about electricity and, quite frankly, it scares me.
Rob tried to help but he knows about as much as I do.
And we all know how unhelpful that is.
I chose to focus on something I DID know how to do instead……
Pick up sticks. I am so good at picking up sticks, it’s not even funny. And, I’m even better at rocks. I’m a rock picking up machine!
Well, I am just as long as there are snacks and drinks are available.
I guess that’s where Addie gets it from. Ha!
Happy Tuesday y’all!
