About 4 years ago we had some turkeys show up. They roost in the big oak trees in our front yard and have recently taken up with the chickens each evening for a dinner of corn, sunflower seeds, milo and oats. They come when I call, making a mad dash to beat each other to the chow line.  I love to see them run, they look afflicted but I adore them.  The old Tom is my favorite.

People driving by our house (who aren’t from around here I’m sure) will skid to a stop, leap out of their vehicle and position themselves carefully in the middle of the road to take pictures.  He is a rather fine sight and has taken to his celebrity quite well, he has even begun to pose!  Silly old Tom……
