Last night about 7:00 a couple of local boys came by the house, they wanted to weigh this fish they caught. Obviously they were pretty tickled at the 6 foot 8 inch dinosaur-era monster……
Now, I have no idea what this fellows name is I just know he lives about 8 miles up the road, Rob ran into him at our little general store where he was showing off the fish.
30 minutes later he is in our driveway. I love Maydelle.

Before weighing the fish the fish must be admired and the entire fish story re-told. This can take anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes…..
Now we are ready to weigh the fish. This turns out to be a process because the rope breaks with the poor fish stuck half-way up, the metal hanging thing comes crashing down on one guys head and we have to start all over and it was about to come a down pour and we were under a severe thunderstorm warning.
This did not matter. You gotta get the fish weighed.

Then you slip the rope around the ball on the bumper of the truck and hold the rope while the truck eases forward…..

Keep going ’cause you have to get him up off the ground to get a proper weight. Proper weight is very important.
And he is up! And he weighed a little over 150 pounds, the boys were hoping for 200 but I guess it wasn’t their day….
Addie-lover of all things fishy, snakey, worm-like, slug-like and otherwise slimy, creepy or wiggling.
And you know that post I made last week about fishing and letting my toes dangle in the water so the fishes could nibble them?
I’m gonna have to re-think that.
