Here is the walk that didn’t get published last week, it was a brief walk but a good one.
This is what I saw.
The recent rain had mushrooms and fungi popping up all over the place. As a matter of fact, the radar showed rain moving in early and staying all day. Thus, the reason for a brief walk around the house. I didn’t feel like getting soaked.
There are also acorns EVERYWHERE. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many, the deer are deliriously happy.
Addie and the deer were both happy about these persimmons.
She insisted I pick one……
I don’t care for them, but that just leaves more for Addie and the deer.
Seeing the grey sky reminded us to head back to the house,
Stopping of course to take a picture of some pretty white flowers peeping out from under a pile of pine straw.
My canna does not realize it is November.
I’m glad.
One more silly shot,
And back inside we go.
Thanks for walking with us today, and for those wondering about Randy and the bumblefoot operation. It went well. Pictures coming soon!
Have a great day and a wonderful Thanksgiving folks!
God must of turned His acorn producing valve to wide open all across the south as we had a mess of acorns this year thus we get a daily visit from a herd of deer. From tiny acorns tall oaks grow so perhaps the tree that Addie’s grandchildren will play under is getting ready to sprout! Happy Thanksgiving!

I have made persimmons into bread before and that was good.

I got the persimmons from a CSA and had to figure out something to do with them since I had never seen one before. The recipe I found was for a bread a lot like banana bread. If you have a lot of the persimmons it is a good way to use a number of them.

I found a group of 3 persimmon trees at the Lake Jacksonville Capmground. Most of the fruit was on the ground being enjoyed by bugs.
