Wicked Walk 18~March~2017

Hello everyone!  I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 months since I’ve been able to blog.  Lots has happened, including but not limited to the following.

A) I painted my front door green.

B)  It’s a bad, bright green therefore I am going to have to repaint it.

C) The cows are settled in their new pasture and I reckon they like it because they’ve had 6 babies since moving in 2 weeks ago.  I also got stepped on.

D)  We have water AND electricity in the house.  Which also means we have a fridge and I stocked it.

E) We ‘got’ a new dog.  Translated to literal terms: This giant, tiger striped Mountain Cur creature showed up at my door, plopped on my feet and gazed longingly into my eyes.  His name is Dozer and he lives here now.  Along with Nosey, Remington, Peaches, Mitten, Snowball and Tigger.  Tigger hates him.

F) Addie broke her wrist and was in a cast for 6 weeks.  Bad Swing.

G) I went for a WALK!  On our new road.  First time I’d walked this path before, you never notice all the wonderful things about a road while driving.  So this was a walk I thoroughly enjoyed.  Even if I need to lose 30 pounds and was out of breath LONG before I got to the church at the top of the hill.

Here is what I saw.

As I neared the end of the driveway I spied one of the many dogwoods showing off their newly acquired spring dresses.

The cows were less impressed.

I got up the road just a bit and saw a cow off by herself in the corner.  Climbing the bank confirmed my suspicions.

Baby number five, way to go Mama!

As I went on I noticed a familiar scent, but couldn’t quite place it.

Then I saw THIS.

The old barn on the hill is almost invisible beneath this mountain of wisteria!

No wonder I could detect it a quarter of a mile away!  Driving by, I’d never even noticed it.

Here lies a creek, hardwood trees and 27 million squirrels.  Very active squirrels.

I finally made it to the top of the hill and the Glenfawn Baptist Church.

Heading back I spied several neat plants…..

An old gate leading into an even older pasture….

More dogwoods….

And some amazing spider webs.  I thought they looked like Fairy hammocks, lightly tied to the limbs, perfect for relaxing.

The sun was sinking fast so I picked up my pace, much easier to do on the downhill trek home….

And that is all folks!

We still aren’t moved in but sheetrock is going up this week, then floors, ac, painting and plumbing hook-up.

THEN we will move in, I’ll post pictures when I can.  I MAY even have the internet soon.  Maybe.

Love ya’!
